Ipu whenua is a hand woven box made from native Harakeke (NZ Flax). This is traditionally used to bury your pēpi's whenua (placenta) and their pito and muka tie (umbilical cord stump and muka tie) following childbirth.
Our Ipu whenua are beautifully handmade with aroha from our local Harakeke Weaver - Whaea Elisa whom originates from the Waikato Region in Hamilton, New Zealand.

Each Ipu whenua may slightly differ in colour and size however approximate dimensions are: 15-20cm L&W x 12-15cmH
